Hinge Subscription Guide: Free vs. Hinge+ vs. HingeX
What each tier currently includes, how billing works, and which problem each upgrade actually solves.
Hinge Tiers in 30 Seconds
- Free Hinge supports matching and messaging, with limited daily Likes and one incoming Like visible at a time.
- Hinge+ adds unlimited Likes, the ability to view all incoming Likes, and Advanced Preferences.
- HingeX includes Hinge+ and adds Enhanced Recommendations, Skip the Line, and Priority Likes.
- Hinge does not publish one universal price. Open Settings → Subscription → Subscribe to Hinge to see the current packages for your account.
- Start with the tier that solves one specific limitation. No paid tier guarantees that another person will Like or match with you.

What Hinge+ Adds
Hinge+ is mainly a volume and filtering upgrade.
Unlimited Likes
Free members can send a limited number of Likes per day; Hinge does not state one universal count on its current subscription pages. Hinge+ removes that daily limit.
Unlimited does not mean every profile is relevant. The feature is useful when the free allowance regularly prevents you from Liking people you genuinely want to meet.
See All Incoming Likes
Free members review one incoming Like at a time. Subscribers can view the full queue and use additional sorting options. This can save time when you have enough incoming interest to compare.
Advanced Preferences
Advanced Preferences can filter Discovery using criteria such as height, children, family plans, education, politics, drinking, smoking, cannabis, and other fields available in the app.
Every filter reduces the pool. Use Dealbreakers for genuine requirements, not an ideal-person checklist that removes most of the local market.
What HingeX Adds
HingeX is the recommendation and distribution tier.
Enhanced Recommendations
Hinge says Enhanced Recommendations prioritize potential matches based on shared preferences and recent activity, bringing them toward the top of Discover. This is different from Standouts, which is a visible feed of profiles receiving a lot of attention.
Skip the Line
Hinge describes Skip the Line as an always-on Boost. It is intended to increase profile visibility without manually activating a one-hour Boost.
Priority Likes
Priority Likes are shown sooner, similarly to Roses, but they appear as normal Likes. Hinge's subscription documentation says the priority treatment lasts seven days before the Like is treated as regular.
Priority changes delivery order, not the recipient's preferences. It cannot guarantee a match.
How Hinge Subscription Pricing Works
Hinge offers weekly, monthly, three-month, and six-month billing periods. Longer periods are billed upfront and renew for the same period unless canceled.
The company directs members to the app for current prices rather than publishing one permanent table. To check:
- Tap your Photo icon.
- Open the Gear icon for Account Settings.
- Scroll to Subscription.
- Tap Subscribe to Hinge.
Compare the total amount charged, renewal period, and platform—not only a displayed monthly equivalent.
Which Tier Should You Choose?
Stay free if the daily Like allowance is enough, the incoming queue is manageable, and the existing preferences cover your real requirements.
Try Hinge+ if you regularly run out of Likes, have an incoming queue worth reviewing, or need Advanced Preferences.
Try HingeX if the Hinge+ features already matter and you specifically want Enhanced Recommendations plus ongoing Like and profile priority.
Choose a short billing period for the first test. Keep the profile and preferences reasonably stable so you can judge whether the paid feature solved the original problem.
Subscriptions vs. Roses and Boosts
Roses and Boosts are separate purchases:
- A Rose moves to the top of the recipient's Likes You screen. Hinge gives one free Rose per week; free Roses do not accumulate.
- A Boost increases visibility for one hour; a Superboost lasts 24 hours.
HingeX includes ongoing priority features but is not identical to buying individual Roses or Boosts. Compare the actual action you need rather than assuming the most expensive tier includes every consumable.
Canceling or Changing a Hinge Subscription
Hinge says subscriptions renew automatically and should be canceled at least 24 hours before the next billing period.
Cancellation depends on the billing platform. App Store purchases are managed through Apple, Google Play purchases through Google, and Hinge payment purchases through Hinge/Stripe.
Deleting the app does not cancel a subscription. Account deletion behaves differently by payment method: Hinge says deleting an account immediately cancels Hinge-payment subscriptions, while App Store and Google Play subscriptions must still be canceled through those stores. Check the current support page for your platform.
