That is useful, but narrow. The badge does not confirm a person's legal name, employment, relationship status, criminal history, or intentions. Hinge itself says verification is not a guarantee of identity or safety. Keep normal dating-safety precautions even when a profile is verified.
How to Get Verified
Hinge's current instructions are:
- Open the profile area from the Photo icon.
- Tap the gray check mark below your name.
- Continue and allow camera access.
- Follow the prompts to record the video selfie.
You need at least one clear, front-facing profile photo where you are the only subject. Hinge recommends an unfiltered, well-lit image without sunglasses or anything cropping the face.

Verification is based on the photos present at the time of the check. If you replace them, especially the clear face photo used for comparison, Hinge may remove the badge. Update the photos and run the verification flow again.
